Dear French friends,

We have done some research and we think that (according to the lack of time and our presence at school) we did a good job. We have ended Primary Education, but we have forwarded the research on sustainable energy to our descendants. THere is no doubt for them to add their part in the research.

We wish you happy Summer Holidays...

Love and greetings from your Slovenian friends

Planning May and June

Dear pupils

You have done a good work...
You have find some informations about power plant (in your country) and to share what you have find you must use the new technology : you have to chat with your foreign pair !

You have to organize all informations you have find, and put it in the allowed Google Documents for your power plant. The deadline is June 1st.
If you need help, then you can ask your teacher !

Students' research

Dear students,

You've been divided into couples. We have prepared more detailed guidline how to set to your research on certain power plant :

1.) Find five (5) different sources (books, newspaper or magazine articles, encyclopaedia, web pages, documentaries…).

2.) What resource does your power plant use (is it renewable or non-renewable and which type is it).

3.) How is your power plant constructed (which are the parts of it)?
For example : parts of the light on your bike are: generator, wires, light and the bulb.

4.) How does your power plant produce electricity (describe the whole process)?
For example: When you spin your pedals on the bike, the first wheel starts to spin around. This causes that the small wheel turns in the generator (dynamo). There is an axis in dynamo and this turns around as well. At the end of the axis there is a magnet inserted in a coil, and this magnet also turns around. Because of this spinning, the voltage (induction) is created. This causes an electric current which spreads via wires into the bulb.

5.) How much electricity do all power plants produce per day or year (in your country, of course)? (the ones of your kind altogether)? Try to find the % of all the energy produced.

6.) What effects does your power plant have on the environment? Describe them.

7:) The number of certain power plants: how many power plants are there in your country and where are they (include the map of France/Slovenia). Are there more and more such power plants in your county or not? Why?

Don't forget to write down your findings in the pre-prepared g-mail document.Write about them, do not just enumerate.

If you have any questions, please contact your teachers. :) We're here for further guidance or any help. Feel free to ask.

Good luck with your project!
